Comments: For one the lowest cost hotels used in packages, this hotel is actually better than you would think. The Hawaiian Monarch is priced lower, because it is a long 3 block walk to the beach or central Waikiki. It has a decent sized lobby, a good sports bar and restaurant and 2 floor pool. Parking available, but for a typical Waikiki "extra-charge". The rooms are a bit small, but a "ok". If you are on a budget, and willing to walk, this is a good choice.
