Los Cabos is the closest tropical beach destination to California. It is less than 3 hours away by air. Los Cabos is actually two resorts, with Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. The town of Cabo has shops, restaurants, nightlife, and great hotels & beaches. The Marina is right there to, if you want to go big game fishing. San Jose Del Cabo on the other hand, is much more laid back. You can enjoy a nice resort and really feel as though you "got-a-way". The beaches are great in both areas, however the strong undertow in the San Jose Del Cabo area, makes them not recommended for swimming.
